Carmen Linares made her recording debut in 1970.
Since then she has become one of the true legends of flamenco singing. In 2001, she was awarded Spain’s National Music Prize and she was one of two recipients of the 2022 Princess of Asturias Award for the arts.
She was the opening act for Palma’s Jazz Voyeur Festival in 2022. On that occasion there was a fusion of sorts with a legend of Mallorca’s music scene, Maria del Mar Bonet.
For the Paco de Lucía Mallorca Festival she will be supported by a singer in the early years of her career - Maria Hein from Felanitx, who is making quite a name for herself in the pop world. They are expected to perform at least one duet. The festival is committed to promoting innovative new musical talent.
