Carl Cox, the king of electronic music, was at the Nit de l’Auba in Can Picafort in last summer. | R.C.
Carl Cox, now in his early 60s, is one of the godfathers of today’s dance music scene.
In the 1980s his career took off alongside the arrival of Chicago house music, the Ibiza explosion and the rave scene. In the Balearics he is mostly known for his Ibiza connections, but he has a special place in Mallorca’s dance history for his appearances at Can Picafort’s Nit de l’Auba in August.
Last year he returned for his fourth ‘Night of the Dawn’. He also closed the first Origen Fest in 2018. This series at Son Fusteret has come to an end due to the change of management. One of the highlights of this coming summer will be ‘the techno legend’ Carl Cox for the Danzû FSTVL - in August, appropriately enough.
