Flamenco and jazz night at the Menorca Jazz Festival, Chano Domínguez and Diego Amador, | GEMMA ANDREU
The programme for the 2024 Jazz Voyeur Festival has yet to be released, but the programme for the Teatre Principal’s 2024/2025 season indicates that one of the concerts will feature celebrated Spanish pianist Chano Domínguez.
Awarded the ministry of culture’s national prize in 2020, his career started in the late 1970s and when, like other jazz musicians of the time, he was experimenting with rock fusion. He subsequently moved towards a Latin and flamenco jazz style.
The concert, which will be a tribute to him, will have the participation of his historic trio fellow musicians, Javier Colina and Guillermo McGill, and one of a new generation of Spanish singers, Mariola Membrives.
