The Royal Film Concert Orchestra (RFCO) is a distinguished ensemble comprising highly skilled professionals from premier European orchestras and music conservatories.
Known for its versatility, the RFCO not only excels in classical repertoire but also explores diverse musical styles, earning acclaim for its exceptional performances.
Committed to becoming a benchmark in the performance of film music, the RFCO boasts a state-of-the-art technical team and collaborates with in-house composers specialising in cinematic scores. With over 90 accomplished musicians, the orchestra is part of the Fundación Excelentia and has graced Europe’s most prestigious stages with concerts dedicated to iconic film soundtracks. Notably, the RFCO has also mastered the art of live accompaniment for full-length films projected on the big screen.
The orchestra’s tribute to Ennio Morricone and 100 years of cinema offers audiences the chance to relive some of the most celebrated soundtracks in cinematic history. From timeless classics like Casablanca and Gone with the Wind to modern masterpieces, the programme includes iconic compositions by Morricone, an Italian maestro who scored over 500 films and television series. Morricone, the recipient of an honorary Oscar in 2006 and an Academy Award in 2016 for The Hateful Eight, also shared the 2020 Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts with John Williams.
Under the baton of Fernando Furones, the concert features selections such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Cinema Paradiso, Titanic, and The Godfather, offering a 90-minute journey through the unforgettable magic of film music.
