Quartetto di Cremona was founded in 2000. | Facebook
The Quartetto di Cremona are Cristiano Gualco (violin), Paolo Andreoli (violin), Simone Gramaglia (viola) and Giovanni Scaglione (cello).
They formed while studying at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona, Lombardy and are now considered one of the best quartets of their generation. Süddeutsche Zeitung has described them as one of the “most exciting” quartets.
Their awards include the Franco Gulli Award for Best Italian Chamber Music Ensemble, among their recordings are the complete string quartets by Italian composer Fabio Vacchi.
Of greater vintage, their performances as artists-in-residence at Milan’s Societa del Quartetto were marked by a concert of all Beethoven’s quartets.
