The Palma Jazz Festival, which is organised by Palma town hall, will start on February 2.
One of its highlights, on February 10, will be the festival's inaugural concert by Yazz Ahmed, the British-Bahraini trumpeter and flugelhorn player whose 2017 album La Saboteuse was named Jazz Album of the year by The Wire magazine.
Her music, which combines Arabic and Western influences, has gone beyond the confines of the jazz world and has received international acclaim. Stepping out of the jazz field, she has recorded and performed with the likes of Radiohead and Joan As Police Woman.
There are seven concerts in all. The festival runs from February 2 to February 19; there are other activities in addition to the concerts.
