Pollensa Festival to close with the highly contemporary

American violinist Hilary Hahn's breakthrough came in 1981 at the age of eleven when she made her major orchestral debut with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.

Since then, she has become a prolific recording artist, has played with the world's leading orchestras and has championed new works and crossover into different genres, such as with alternative country singer Josh Ritter.

For the closing concert at this year's Pollensa Festival, the programme with Die Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen will feature the traditional - Mozart's Violin Concerto No.5 in A major (known as Turkish) - and the highly contemporary. The world premiere of Labyrinthe du Temos, composed by Aziza Sadikova from Uzbekistan, will be in Bremen on August 22. A concerto for violin, accordion and orchestra, Hilary Hahn will be performing with world-renowned conductor and accordionist Omer Meir Wellber.
