Fira B is the professional market for music and the performing arts in the Balearics.
This market entails workshops and conferences that are for the professionals. Its public face is an array of performances which featured theatre, dance and circus earlier in October and music from November 2 to 4.
With the live performances, the fair showcases a host of artists and bands, many of them from Mallorca and the Balearics. Some are well known, others less so, but they are representative of a vibrant music scene on the islands that embraces all genres.
The first concert - at 4pm on Thursday - is by Mallorcan singer Aina Tramullas, the 2022 winner of the Enderrock award for best new artist of the year in the Balearics. She is at the Teatre Mar i Terra, one of three venues and which - broadly speaking - is devoted to pop.
The others are Es Baluard (jazz) and Ses Voltes (electronica/urban). The concerts are all quite short and they’re free, so you have the chance to dip in and out and sample some of the fine talent on show.
