Savage sax and other styles in Palma

Dani Nel-lo is a saxophonist from Barcelona whose first break came in the mid-1980s when he joined what was a successful rock group, Los Rebeldes.

He was 17 at the time and stayed with them until 1997, gaining a reputation for his charismatic performance.

He moved into R&B and other styles with the band Los Mambo Jambo and brought out a couple of solo albums dedicated to R&B sax players - ‘Los saxofonistas savajes’ volumes one and two. He has also been artistic director of TV shows dedicated to jazz and the blues and been involved with theatrical production.

He’s in Palma with a quarter that features Gerard Nieto (piano), Ivan Kovacevic (double bass) and Ramón Ángel Ray (drums).
