After winning the Latin Grammy for Best Flamenco Album 2023, Las Migas continue touring with LIBRES | Youtube: Las Migas

Las Migas now comprise one of their founders in 2004, Marta Robles (guitar), Alicia Grillo (also guitar), Carolina Fernández (vocals), and Laura Pacios (violin).

The changes in line-up have not diminished their reputation as one of Spain’s finest flamenco-fusion groups. Most certainly not, as their most recent album, ‘Libres’ released in 2022, won a Latin Grammy Award for best flamenco album of the year.

They enjoy a reputation that extends well beyond Spain and not just to Spanish-speaking parts of the world. They are one of the premier flamenco music acts, whose fusion has embraced country, pop and urban.

Although the group’s roots are flamenco, it originated in Barcelona, where Marta Robles and others were studying at the Catalonia School of Music.

As with pop artist Rosalia (from the Barcelona province), here’s further proof that success with a flamenco style doesn’t have to mean coming from Andalusia.

A great of the flamenco guitar, Paco de Lucía, was from Andalusia, and Las Migas will be performing at the third Festival Paco de Lucía Mallorca.
