In March 2022, Rafael Adobas from Ibiza became the first Spaniard to win the prestigious Kobe International Flute Competition in Japan, the most important flute competition in the world.

Shortly after, he performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall for the first time. At 28 and unquestionably a rising star in the classical music world, he recently performed with the Balearic Symphony Orchestra for the special concert for Balearics Day.

He will once more be a soloist for a concert programme that will feature the Concerto for Flute and Orchestra that was written by French composer Jacques Ibert in 1932. The orchestra will also be joined by the Studium Aureum Choir for ‘Fantasia sobre l’Atlàntida’ by Palma composer Mercè Pons.
