Tango night in Deya

The Ensemble Intertango is a group of eight musicians, three of whom are from the home of tango, Argentina.

They are Pablo Albornoz (violin), Facundo Passeri (drums) and Pablo González on that most indispensable instruments for tango, the bandoneon. American Richard Korn is on double bass, and others in the ensemble include pianist Alfredo Oyaguez, the director of the Deya International Music Festival, and the hugely versatile violinist Enric Pastor.

The programme for their concert for the Deya festival promises a variety of tangos and milongas as well as other Argentine and South American folk styles. In addition to the concert at Son Marroig, the ensemble will this week be performing at Bodegas Santa Catarina on Saturday, which will be interesting as Enric Pastor is also due to be in Sineu on Saturday. Perhaps he’ll skip the Sencelles gig.
