Pianist Lise de la Salle will perform at Palma's Auditorium. | LYNN GOLDSMITH
A Washington Post critic wrote of a concert by Lise de la Salle: “For much of the concert, the audience had to remember to breathe ... the exhilaration didn’t let up for a second until her hands came off the keyboard.”
Born in Cherbourg in 1988, she studied at the Paris Conservatory and took her first step towards international recognition by winning first prize at the Ettlingen Piano Competition aged 12.
She has been with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra for its 2023/2024 season, having performed with numerous leading orchestras in Europe, the USA and Asia.
Her critically acclaimed recordings include works by Bach, Chopin and Liszt, while her current touring schedule shows that Edvard Grieg is very much part of her repertoire as well.
In Palma with the Balearic Symphony Orchestra, she will be performing Grieg’s Piano Concerto, Op. 16.
