The unique Josephine Foster is coming to Sa Pobla this summer

The New York Times once wrote of Josephine Foster - “You might call her eerie warbling old-fashioned, except that it evokes a scrambled past that exists only in her imagination; mountain songs that never were, spaced-out hybrids that will never be.”

A Colorado singer, musician and composer, The Guardian reckoned her music “plays games with our ideas of time and space”. She originally trained as an opera singer before moving into folk music and an alternative, weird American style also occupied by the likes of The Handsom Family.

A unique artist, appearing in Mallorca thanks to the ongoing Women don’t Wait for Waits series of concerts that specialises in female singers in English, albeit she has also recorded in Spanish.
