The wonderful harmonies of Lemoncello in Alcudia

Lemoncello are Claire Kinsella and Laura Quirke.

They met at university in Maynooth, County Kildare and released their first album earlier this year, an original EP having come out in 2018.

With Irish, folk and classical roots combined with indie pop, the duo’s harmonies are complemented by the guitar and cello plus backing (on the album) with percussion, piano, fiddle and synths. The impact they have made on Ireland’s music scene is such that they have been nominated for the RTE Radio 1 Best Folk Song and Best Emerging Folk Act.

They may be little known outside Ireland but they are about to become very much better known. Highly recommended.
