Top Catalan jazz comes to Palma

Rita Payés and Xavi Torres had been involved with numerous musical projects before teaming up for a concert in Barcelona last year and then performing for the first time in Mallorca at the 2023 Alternatilla Jazz Festival.

Aged 25, vocalist and trombonist Rita comes from the same Catalonian band collective that produced singer and trumpeter Andrea Motis, who is a regular performer in Mallorca.
One of the highlights of the 2022 Goya Awards was when she sang with leading Spanish rapper, C. Tangana.

Pianist Xavi has a strong reputation on the European scene. A student of jazz and classical music at the Catalonia School of Music and the Amsterdam Conservatory, he won the 2016 Dutch Jazz Competition.
