Gabriel Estarellas, born in Palma in 1952, is recognised as being one of the greatest contemporary exponents of the Spanish classical guitar school.
His international career started as a result of winning the guitar section at the prestigious Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli, Italy at the age of eighteen.
A former professor of guitar at the Madrid Royal Conservatory of Music, he has released ten albums and composed nine works, the most recent having been 'Tema con Variaciones y Tocata' in 2019. His 'Concert for Guitar and Orchestra' will feature Antoni Perelló, professor of guitar at the conservatory in Palma, and will be conducted by his son, also Gabriel. There are two other works - Elgar's 'Serenade for Strings' and Mendelssohn's 'Scottish' (Symphony No. 3).
