Madrid-based SOM Produce is Spain’s biggest theatrical production company.

Responsible for versions of The Sound of Music and Billy Elliott, for example, Chicago is one of the company’s latest. The original Broadway production premiered in June 1975 and ran for 936 performances before being revived in 1996. It is the second longest-running show on Broadway after The Phantom of the Opera.

It made famous songs like All That Jazz, the SOM version (which is the same as the Broadway production) featuring Ela Ruiz in the role of the character who sings this, Velma Kelly. The tour of Chicago started in Malaga last month and will be in various cities before arriving in Palma for six shows over four days.
