Another stand-out is at Bellver Castle this week, where Moldovan soprano Valentina Nafornita is the solo soprano for the Balearic Symphony Orchestra latest concert for the summer season at the castle.
Her appearance is arguably the stand-out for the season, such is the demand that she enjoys on the international scene. Since joining the Vienna State Opera in 2011 she has taken roles in numerous leading operas.
One of these, Zerlina in Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’ was recorded with the Vienna Philharmonic. The programme for the castle concert comprises five pieces by Puccini, two by each of Catalani, Dvorak and Verdi plus one by Mascagni.
