On Sunday morning, there were long tailbacks of traffic heading to the arrivals parking zone at Palma Son Sant Joan Airport. It was taking up to an hour.

I noticed the other day that since the ‘free’ area to wait and collect visitors has been blocked, people are now parking on the other side. It’s looks like a queue for the car park - but it’s not. You have to drive round it. Very misleading. They really need to stop people parking there - it’s a total pain :(
I think this article is a bit misleading. The queue is to enter the restricted area for taxis and buses. That is why all the cars are taxis. As anyone who lives here knows, the taxis have a dedicated area and do not use the short term arrival pickup area. I can imagine that queue might also affect getting to and into the arrivals pickup though. You can see that exit just before, and it's empty of cars, but you need to pass through the queue of car to be able to exit. As the person filming is driving fast past this queue it would seem that there is no problem arriving to this exit.
If this is so, I suggest that families meeting family, tell them to take a bus to a clear destination and meet them there. Simple. The MDB has notified every reader the bus services.
