Zoltan Teglas spouting nonsense again. Virually all robbery crime in Magaluf and Arenal is carried out by organised north African, Eastern European or South American gangs/groups. To say otherwise is nonsence, yes the germans and Brits get involved in drunken fights but thats different from actual premeditated crime.
Peter PerfectI don't need to 'do some research' as I am talking about Mallorca, where I have lived and worked for over 30 years so I know it well enough. I am not talking about Spain. And the crimes in Magaluf and Arenal are mainly committed by British and German tourists.
Zoltan, please do some research before spouting nonsense. Spain has the third highest crime rate in Europe. It would be lower if the police were actually allowed to do their jobs and there was enough of them in the first place. Crimes under 400 euro odd are not even classed as crime these days so even the pickpockets don't get counted. Watches stolen, bags snatched, tourists robbed on the beach and the streets, the locals have been asking for more cops in Arenal for years. And that is without counting Magalluf.
Peter PerfectThere are around a million people in Mallorca so of course there is some crime. I spent a few days in Southampton in the summer visiting friends, and can honestly say that I saw more fights there than I have in over 30 years living in Palma. And it only has about a third of Mallorca's population.
Zoltan. I guess 2 rapes in one week isn't a high crime rate. Have you read any local papers. Scams, violence, thefts... Really.
Peter PerfectNonsense, it's one of the safest places in Europe.
Maybe you should tell them that it is poorly policed, has a high crime rate - especially against tourists - it's expensive and crowded.
