Dear Sir, I can assure Ray Fleming (Music In The Air, June 4) that the performances enjoyed by the listeners to our BBC Radio 2 Young Musician Competition are indeed the ones heard by our distinguished judges. The atmosphere in the studio is welcomed by our semi-finalists as wonderfully friendly and relaxed, but when for the Finals we are joined by an audience and The BBC Concert Orchestra in London's Queen Elizabeth Hall, that same charge is added as Ray noted in the Finals of the excellent BBC TV Young Musician Competition.
