The economic slowdown means that everyone has less cash in their pockets and rather than reducing prices some businesses have actually risen them in an effort to counterbalance for the drop in trade. This is a very short sighted policy which gives Majorca a bad reputation. The local authorities should even consider some form of price control so that tourists and residents are not ripped off.
