...For interpreters who risk their lives as their Iraqi counterparts did before them working for the British Army. Without their services the task of the Army in working with local communities would be almost impossible. The Three Cheers are timely because there are signs that the Afghans may be treated as badly as the Iraqi interpreters were when Britain quit Iraq -- denied entry to Britain and adequate financial compensation to make a new life safe from Taliban or other revenge for their work with the British army.
