SINCE living here I have found the choice of music concerts on offer fantastic. I think this year has been exceptional, my highlight has been Diana Krall, never thought she would appear here. Only downside being the impersonal Palma Arena. But last night (Friday) I saw a fantastic concert featuring my local favorite Jan Perikas with his Rock and Soul Band and Lorenzo Santamaria. What a wonderful two hours of non-stop entertainment. Two weeks earlier I saw one of the best dixieland, trade jazz bands I have seen for years, La Portena Band. Both concerts were free at Ses Voltes, of course both audiences were mostly Majorcan and Spanish, count expats on ones fingers. Since moving the venue to Ses Voltes from Parc de Mar, the sound is a lot better. Two wonderful nights and free entertainment, who needs expensive concerts. It makes living here more enjoyable. Look forward to next year.
