WITH reference to Anthony Morris's letter regarding cruise liners. I must take issue with him on his condemnation of the commercial port and the difficulties he maintains this causes to the cruise liner tourists.

I can assure him that guests from the Island Escape and Island Star have no difficulty whatsoever in finding their way into Palma or indeed locating the Porto Pi shopping Mall which is a mere ten minute walk from the terminal.

There are numerous traffic light crossing points which ensure a safe passage across the Paseo Maritimo to Porto Pi.

The services from the terminal are excellent, there is a taxi rank, the service bus runs regularly into Palma and the open top tourist bus stops at the terminal, therefore visitors have all the facilities which enable them to visit Palma or shop in Porto Pi.

Almost all take full advantage of these.
