MARTIN Johnson's tenure as manager of England has surely run its course after yesterday morning's woeful performance against a young French side which I honestly think did not expect to progress any further in this World Cup.

But, with the gracious help of an England side which was all at sea for the first three quarters of the game, they now face Wales who are looking mighty impressive.

England played well in the final quarter thanks to the replacements who should have probably started the game or at least come on at half time.
Johnson still does not know what his best starting XV is and playing with two kickers, Wilkinson and Flood, was a waste of a position.
After three qualifying games and the three warm up tests before heading out to New Zealand, if Johnson still can not put a mature quarter final team together, it is time he gives up because it is not as if England does not have some World class players.
