I had quite a busy weekend I won´t bore you with all the details but it went something like this; Real Mallorca football on Saturday night, Lluchmajor fair and lunch and monastery visit to Cura on Sunday. Which leads me to my next question; who says that there is nothing to do in Majorca during the low season? Granted the exceptionally fine autumn weather helps for a good day out but there are scores of events on the island which can be enjoyed and which the weather can´t ruin. Once again, I find myself, saying that with a bit of imagination Majorca could be a first rate autumn/winter holiday destination. There is plenty to do. It was the first time that I had been to the Lluchmajor fair and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. The monastery at Cura is also quite stunning. Thankfully, Real Mallorca football club are also making a push to try and encourage more foreigners to head to the ground. We are so lucky; you can see the best of the Spanish league in Palma. As you will read in today´s edition, Mallorca have teamed-up with the travel giant, TUI, and have put together a package holiday which includes tickets to see Real Mallorca. Lets hope the initiative is successful.
P.S. On a final note I saw that a major international Gulf airline was advertising flights to London and across the globe at Mallorca´s Iberostar stadium on Saturday night. Unfortunately, Palma is not part of their flight network. Own goal or what!
