I HAVE visited Magalluf over the past 30 years and enjoyed the sun, sea and sangria it had to offer. I feel I must send this e-mail, because I'm disgusted with the criminal element that has been allowed to take over this lovely resort. I have noticed a gradual deterioration over the past 10 years and no action seems to have been taken to tackle this problem. My most recent visit to Magalluf was the beginning of October 2009 when I personally experienced the scourge of the prostitutes that are gathering in gangs on the streets and who are blatantly attacking, assaulting and mugging passing males and females. I witnessed police officers driving past and ignoring the situations that were happening nightly. Both the police and council should wake up and rid this lovely resort of the criminal element that is destroying it's economy and deterring decent people from visiting. Lots of my friends are certainly thinking twice about visiting again so this needs the agencies' urgent attention not only for the visitors, but the locals also.
