BDSs-DICs
Dear Sir,
Forgive my tardiness in replying to Mr Ash’s column (MDB 16 February ‘14) but other commitments meant I didn’t even get to see a newspaper until just now. I enjoyed Mr Ash’s rant, nothing like a little rabble rousing to get the blood flowing. I found it very entertaining, and like all good entertainment it is based on fantasy.
Mr Ash cherry picked his way through history, a disciple of that school of thought which employs the tactic ‘Dialogue Intended to Confuse’, or DICs for short, and pardon the pun! Mr Ash ignored any details that didn’t fit into his attempt to put a human face on those cuddly Israelis.
I wonder has he ever heard of the U.N.? They’re big, though maybe not in Israel, but if he could pull himself away from that workers paradise “just over the contentious Green Line” (love it, what chutzpah!) and looked up any of the U.N. Articles then they may cast a more realistic light on those fun loving Zionists. Any Article will do, Israel are in breech of just about all of them.
I’d wager that if Israel was to lift its economic blockades and punitive restrictions on the Palestinian people then the Palestinians could open their own businesses and enterprises and not rely on Israeli hand-outs.
His remark alluding to the Jews being there in Biblical times is not in contention, the problem is they weren’t the only ones there, a fact they like to conveniently forget.
I would like to take him to task on a few other points but I have a copy of the Guardian that awaits my attention.
Regards,
