TALK about spoilt for choice, there is more happening in Majorca in the Winter than during the Summer. Take this week;showing in Palma cinemas in English are many of the main Oscar winners, there is a performance of Macbeth at the auditorium in English, there are comedy wokshops with Logan Murray and last night there was even a screening of a performance from the London Opera House of Sleeping Beauty at the Ocimax cinema. Plus there are plenty of other events fromconcerts to folk dancing. It is quite amazing the range of events which are staged in Majorca throughout the year. But what is quite incredible is that many of these events are in English, ideal for visiting tourists and of course the expatriate community. Now, I have made my views on the need for more Winter tourism very clear in this space over the last few weeks. But all these What´s On events add to the argument. You can never say that you are bored in Majorca during the Summer or the Winter. The local tourism authorities should underline the massive What´s On programme on the island when they visit the various international trade fairs. As I have said many times it is not rocket science. I am sure that many of the organisers of all these events would love additional people in the audience in the form of holidaymakers. As residents we should welcome all these events with open arms and hopefully the tourism authorities will also spread the word.
