Dear Sir,
I along with many other tourists went to see the City of Palma match against Getafe and was greatly impressed by the improvement in the team compared to my last visit to the island when they surrended meekly at the Son Moix to Deportivo.
I was particularly impressed with the speed and work ethic of the young players notably Fofo and the 18 and 19 as well as the cracking goal from Joao. Getafe gave their all and it was an entertaining game. At the end of the day, a win is a win. Long may it continue.

Turkey’s membership of the E.U.
Dear Sir,
I do not understand Mr Ray Fleming’s comment that “unfortunately its (Turkey’s) attempts to join the E.U. have been blocked by France and other E.U. members”.
Although some pedantic people may claim that Turkey is a transcontinental country being in both Asia and Europe in reality it is 99% in Asia and as Germany’s Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble stated “Turkey is not part of Europe”.
Using the same logic does Spain have rights to belong to pan-African organizations due to its outposts of Ceuta and Melilla?
I do know that Israel has some very strange support allowing it to compete in the Eurovision Song Contest when it most definitely is not in Europe.
