Air Balear
Dear Sir,
A brilliant idea, and why not? Here in Minorca there is an initiative to form our own airline, born of the even worse situation we face on the “minor island”, but maybe that is a little too ambitious for such a small hub (pop. less than 90,000). But with the power and support of the major Balearic hotel groups, and of course our tourism authorities and other interested parties “Air Balear” could just work. What a great idea to offer multi-centre/2 or 3 island holidays, for example? Great for golfers, painters, walkers etc. And others!
Each island has something different and distinctive to offer. Yes, even in the winter months.
Minorca will shortly be “cut off” from direct UK flights until the end of March. Like it or not (and not everyone does, but it is a fact) tourism has become the main economic driver. How can we prosper if you can’t get here easily and for a fair price for one quarter of the year!
