Dear Sir,
Many of your readers will be puzzled over our local politicians spending so much of their effort on place names and how to spell them. Last Thursday’s MDB featured their debate over how to spell Paguera, by Friday they’d moved onto renaming the airport. Some months earlier they had devoted their combined wisdom on renaming Palma and removing the titles Duke & Duchess of Palma from the royals.

Lack of beach facilities for Puerto Pollensa visitors. On a recent visit I was surprised and disappointed by the lack of beach facilities for Puerto Pollensa visitors.Whilst other tourist resorts around the island including Alcudia had their beaches open and equipped for tourists in early May the authorities in Puerto Pollensa do not think that summer begins in Majorca until June. This will do nothing for local tourism business in Puerto Pollensa or for the visitors unable to find the facilities they expect from a popular holiday resort.
