Dear Sir,
My wife and I recently returned to the UK after a two week holiday in Majorca. One week was spent in an apartment on Palmira beach in Paguera. Apart from the glorious weather and our daily read of the Bulletin, we were tremendously impressed with the beach services (in contrast to your reports from Pollensa). Every morning the promenade was swept, the seaweed was cleared from the shoreline, the beaches were combed for rubbish, the wooden walkways were swept, the shower areas were cleaned, bins were emptied, sunbeds and shades were readied for use and lifeguards patrolled the whole length of the beach all day. Of course this is as it should be but hats off to Paguera for making it happen and making the beach safe and enjoyable for all. We will be back!

Pickpockets rife in Puerto Pollensa
Dear Sir,
I have just had a good holiday ruined by pickpockets in Puerto Pollensa. Waiting for a bus last Sunday to Pollensa town the crush to get on the bus was the perfect opportunity for them to pick my pocket and take my wallet with my holiday cash and credit cards.
A nice holiday ruined in an instant. I reported it to the Guardia Civil but they said it was a common happening. If so, why do they not do something about it? I suggested signs up a bus stops, etc. Saying Beware of Pickpockets but I doubt anything will be done.
I understand these pickpockets are often Romanians here making a living stealing wallets, purses and bags.
It is time the Guardia or police or whoever is responsible cracked down on this and stopped these evil people ruining honest people’s holidays.
