Dear Sir,
My wife and I have recently returned from Majorca and while we were there, read each edition of the MDB. We greatly enjoy it. I was surprised to read so much comment about the Tourist Tax. We stayed for two weeks at a 4* hotel and the tax added to our bill was € 46.20. On the day we left, our modest lunch cost € 43.05 without a tip. If the tax is doubled, that will be equivalent to two lunches, or one dinner, so it certainly will not stop us visiting the Island.

Mr. Noons is the type of tourist Mallorca wishes to attract. Financially well placed, and happy to use his credit card to pay for everything.
Your right Stuart.Portugal for us next year after 20 + years.I think its time for a change.
Mr. Noons. Much as I'm glad the tourist tax is ok for you my circumstances are that I'm on a pension and have to save hard for any holiday. It's not only the tourist tax that is putting me off going there now but the anti tourist brigade against us. Big demo in Palma on Saturday 23rd September against us. Also expensive nowadays with food portions going down and prices going up. Hotel prices higher. It's a no go for me next year.
