The British referendum on European Union membership appears to have set a trend in other countries as well, according to a new opinion poll. Forty-five per cent of more than 6,000 people surveyed in Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Poland, Spain and Sweden said they wanted their own vote, and a third would opt to leave the EU if given the chance, poll firm Ipsos-MORI said. The size of the potential "Out" vote ranges from as high as 48 and 41 per cent in Italy and France respectively to as low as 22 and 26 per cent in Poland and Spain, the firm said. So whatever anyone tells you, all is not well within the European Union. I would say that Spain is probably one of the most pro-European of any country in Europe but still there are some who want to leave. The euro single currency has been blamed for many of the ills which have hit the European continent. To this day, some Spaniards still complain that their life was better without the euro and yearn for the return of the peseta. I suspect that in the coming months and years there will be growing demands for governments to hold referendums on European Union membership. Perhaps it is time to give all countries across the union their say on the European club. The European Union is going through a difficult time at the moment and needs the support of the people. I would say that the majority of people would want to stay but they should at least be given the option.

I should have written twice in the LAST century. Time goes fast enough as it is at my age without accelerating it.
Without us and our money, the whole rotten, corrupt edifice will come crashing down and they know it which is why they are using every dirty trick in the book and every scare story possible to keep us from voting yes. Twice this century,Germans have tried to take over Europe and now another German is hell-bent on opening the gates to let anyone in from anywhere and is determined that Turkey be given free access to Europe,a country that murdered over 800.000 of it's own Armenian Christian population. This will spell the end of Europe and every UK citizen should vote no to prevent this because it would be the end of us as well. God knows how many terrorists have been admitted into Europe because of this insanity but if we stay in,there will be much worse to come.
"The European Union is going through a difficult time at the moment and needs the support of the people". Why ?,
"To this day, some Spaniards still complain that their life was better without the euro and yearn for the return of the peseta". So do some British.
