The EU referendum is hitting the British expat community on the island. I am quite amazed how it has become such an important talking point. Everyone is obviously concerned: how will our lives change in Britain leaves is the chief concern on everyone's lips. Will we need to take out new residency certificates? Will we need work permits? Will free health care still remain? The list goes on. In addition, the political and financial instability has meant that big investors are putting their plans on hold to see what happens.

I fail to understand the naive view that a "leave" vote will suddenly reduce immigration into the UK. Most of the immigration that's causing problems is already totally illegal, why will those people stop finding a way in just because we vote "leave"? It may even get worse because there will be no back-up whatsoever from the rest of the EU. We have a massive coastline with leaky borders everywhere. No logic whatsoever.
The four biggest selling daily newspapers here in the UK,the Daily Mirror,The Sun,the Daily Mail and the Daily Express are all campaigning for a no vote and with the printed papers and online editions,I rather think that they will have a lot more influence than a minor Spanish newspaper.
Simon,I do and if you lived in the North West of England as I do,you would see for yourself that most of us want out of the EU,maybe we just don't swallow propaganda so easily here in the north.
Sean, use your computer / laptop instead.
Prepare for a shock, you are clearly not reading the UK press or listening to UK radio (not sure about T.V. because I don't have a T.V.) Immigration features largely here, especially the prospect of millions of Turks heading our way, which will happen sooner or later if we stay in the EU.
