Coalition government in Spain

A year ago this month political change arrived in the Balearics. The Partido Popular, which had swept to victory by a landslide just four years earlier, were ejected from office with a bruising defeat. It was the dawn of a new political era of coalition government: a left-wing nationalist grouping of parties.

The only reason it is "working" is because the person who was put in charge is one of the losers of the last election and does what she is told to do by another losing party which doesn´t even form part of it, acting only as observers, which allows them to vote on things which could benefit them and not when they don´t. "Sorry guv, nothing to do with me". In other words its not even a coalition, let alone a government.
