The British pullout from the EU has obviously hit the spending power of British tourists as sterling has fallen in value against the euro. However, British companies still appear to be eager in invest in the Balearics. A British company has recently purchased the Festival Park shopping complex, another British firm has unveiled plans to invest 500 million euros in a Palma shopping centre, Sir Richard Branson will be investing millions transforming the Son Bunyola estate in Banyalbufar into a luxury hotel, and British-owned retailers, including Primark, are busy opening stores on Majorca. In fact, I think it could be said that there has never been such a degree of large-scale investment by British companies on Majorca.

Malcolm: my comment was said in jest, although it does seem that Jason has seen the light and is slowly but surely changing his mind about Brexit. He´ll be voting for Catalan independence next. Ann: I was going to make the same observation, and as you say, it was.
The British had already made considerable bookings, before the referendum result. Because Mallorca has not had a Terrorist Attack, British Holiday visitors will continue to come to the Island. I would like to see more armed patrols, on beach areas, on all urbanisation areas of the Island, where Tourists congregate. The Investments are most welcome, and I hope they will continue to attract Winter Tourists, with associated increased Flights to Mallorca.
I thought Primark was an Irish company and that plans for the other new mall had been turned down.
Carry on Jason. I am a remain & will be visiting in October. It is good to be kept up to date.
Jason, if you carry on writing editorials in the the same vein, you will start annoying your Remain DB readers, of which I am not one of them.
