Today marks a small milestone in the long history of the Bulletin. We are publishing our first ever Santa Lucia special for our Scandinavian readers and ofcourse, all the other nationalities who want to enjoy the fun this evening in Palma. The Bulletin is lucky to have a very varied mix of nationalities as readers who all share one thing in common; their love of Majorca. The Scandinavian community continues to grow on the island; infact the Santa Catalina area of Palma has been dubbed mini-Scandinavia! This is all fantastic news for Palma because it means that the cultural mix of the city continues to grow. Obviously, since Brexit it appeared that Britain wanted to retreat from Europe, an allegation which has been denied by the British government. At the Bulletin we pride ourselves at our growing band of readers from across Europe and obviously further afield. If you have never attended the Santa Lucia celebrations in Palma you are in for a treat tonight. There will be a real festive atmosphere all aided by the fantastic Christmas lights. There is also a market and much more and it will help you get into the mood for the festive season. In Majorca we are spoilt for choice when it comes to festive events. Over the weekend a large number of events took place including the hugely successful Christmas market in Santa Ponsa organised by the Calvia council and ofcourse, tonight there is Santa Lucia. In Majorca you can get into the festive spirit in style and with many different traditions.
