Nigel Farage deserves a Lordship because he has made 17 million people in Britain proud to be British once again, said a political commentator this week. An amazing statement which appears to capture part of the mood in Britain at the moment following the Brexit referendum. In the same way as I do not believe that people who voted for Brexit would also have voted for Donald Trump in the US presidential election, I do feel that leaving the European Union makes me proud to be British.

S. A litmus test on whether people are leaving Mallorca is to talk to the removal companies, which I did in passing the other day. They tell me they have never been so busy...with people arriving not leaving ! Cheers
Viewpoint heading: "No pride in Brexit. The referendum result did not make me proud to be British ... the complete reverse."Article: "I do feel that leaving the European Union makes me proud to be British…. …….I am probably less proud these days because of the result."¿?¿? All these confusing editorials on Brexit are now becoming rather boring.
The UK is now overloaded with Immigrants. The facilities are are at breaking point. London is choked up with exhaust fumes. The Benefit System,The NHS,The Housing need, A & E are all close to collapse. Yet many Ex Pats are leaving Mallorca, loss of Pension Income being one of many reasons. There is no All Inclusive destroying the economy,No Tourist Tax , and no exchange rate failures. The Euro and The EU, are close to total collapse.
Forgot two things...Farage would deserve a reward of some sort but I bet he would turn down the Lords, which should be abolished anyway. Second, I have reviewed all the Brexit themed editorials red and green and your readership, despite living here, is most decidedly in favour in favour of Brexit. I guess that's consistent with why we all left a dying country...
So I am already breaking my new year resolution not to become enraged by you. I have to comment. First, this is yet another muddled editorial. It's like one of those Private Eye before and after spoof editorials. First you say Brexit made you proud to be British. You then go on to say that it has made you less proud. So how do you really feel? Second, you have spent most of your life here and have no claim to a real Londoner's view. I grew up there and it used to be fabulous. Now frankly it is a nasty, hostile, terrible place to exist. Third, your ongoing views on Brexit are naive in the extreme. I am doing just fine, thanks...my pension has grown hugely since Brexit and the pound WILL rebound this year as I already predicted. Don't listen, everyone, to a self professed former cub reporter on a rag which has never had any lions.
The EU is and always was 'political'. It was created to stop Europeans killing each other as they had been doing for centuries. It helped keep the peace for 70 years. It also formed an incredibly strong trade 'club' which could compete with any others world wide. Yet the UK voted to leave this powerful club and go it alone. I can't make up my mind whether it was simply mass stupidity (which most now regret) or that Brits are just totally masochistic...
Jason, Everyone I know who voted to leave the EU it was because they wanted control back and the opportunity for greater Worldwide Trade. Who wishes to belong to a failing Europe !!! It is the media that have run with the story it is all about immigration and creating so much negativity.Just watch and see.
