The British government needs to start actively thinking about the hundreds of thousands of British citizens who are living abroad, many on the European continent. British citizens living in EU countries will probably be the people most affected by Brexit. They may even have to surrender their right to free health care. Can you imagine if British citizens in the UK were told that the days of free health care could be numbered? There would be an outcry which would probably lead to the collapse of the government. Well British citizens on the continent are facing this threat.

I really don't know why my comment has negative (red) values as I was only stating legal facts and trying to be helpful since the editor tends to scaremonger. I wasn't giving an opinion. Perhaps those who did mark negative could clarify why.....? Thank you.
You clearly give yourself importance way above reality, every single service in the UK has been cut to the bone, all council services,housing,hospitals,G.P.'s,the police, fire service, ambulance service, the military, street lighting, customs, the border service, jobs, the lot and there is talk now of charging for some G.P.services so those who chose to become voluntery immigrants barely even register with anyone,if you can no longer afford to live in Spain, leave and see the reality of the UK for yourselves.
A number of my friends, are returning to the UK. There is the constant uncertainty surrounding " Brexit ".. The doubt concerning EHIC Health cover, for Tourists and residents, is one main concern. The loss of the Pound/Euro exchange rate, is another main concern, for all British Tourists,Pensioners etc. I agree that these concerns need to be addressed and ruled on now, and after the UK leaves the EU. Many are leaving business locals, and selling their homes.
I would just like to point out once again that those who are working here and paying their tax and Social Security contributions will still be covered by Spanish Health Care, as will those of us who have Spanish pensions, in the same way that residents from non-EU countries already are. The doubts really only arise with those who are not working and/or only have UK pensions. A fair number, I agree.
