I never thought I would say this but the European Union is behaving like a schoolyard bully towards Britain and Brexit. The buzz word is that the EU will punish Britain for leaving. European leaders I once admired, such as Chancellor Angela Merkel, appear to be obsessed with making Britain pay. Pay for what? Democracy? Like it or not the British people voted to leave the European Union and only the Liberal Democrats have promised a second referendum and they stand about as much chance of winning the general election as Real Mallorca have of playing Champions League football next season.

Ivan see the UK "Walk Away" and pay nothing if the EU don't stop their "Bully Boy" tactics- we shouldn't need to pay anything as we have paid "Plenty" over the years- The EU need to deter other European nations following in U.K's footsteps! In a divorce All Parties are treated the same so UK is probably due money from EU from assesses that UK help to fund and will still remain in the EU gaining money i.e. EU Parliament Buildings for a start! The present EU is not what we signed up for a Trading Union if EU nations it's becoming Too Big for its Boots!
Junker wants to make the UK to pay mega euros to leave. But this won't happen. The UK have paid over millions during 40 years. Infrastucture, properties in Brussels and Strasbourg etc. We want money back - rather than pay. When you join a club - you can leave without penalty.
Are the big EU members getting worried, that their own countries could be next in requesting a referendum to leave. Seem to remember something about Italian and French natives wanting to leave too
I don't condone it, but this is/was inevitable. Britain made a decision to serve it's own interests and the EU is working in their interests. If Brexit looks too 'easy' then it might be a tempting proposal for other countries. It is in it's own interests to make leaving the EU look as difficult and painful as possible. This was always going to be the case.
The EU,which is not what we joined in 1973,is showing it's true colours and old animosities, which have never gone away, have now risen to the surface with our defiance of the EU. We don't need them and will prosper and succeed despite them
Those that laugh last, laugh longest.
YOU KNOW WHAT HAPPENS TO BULLIES !
THE EU BULLIES ARE DETERMINED TO MAKE AN EXAMPLE OF GREAT BRITAIN'S EXIT FROM THEIR EXCLUSIVE CONTROLLING CLUB. By punishing GB , they are punishing their own trade with Britain. Their disgraceful FINES and actions, ARE TO SERVE AS A WARNING TO THEIR OTHER COUNTRY CLUB MEMBERS. But I would like to see others leaving, and the complete collapse of EU, and the severe punishment of those BULLIES>
