It is a difficult time for expats in Majorca. This is probably one of the "lowest" times of the year on the island - Christmas has gone, the weather is poor and the satellite TV signal has weakened because of the adverse weather! It is the time of the year when some expats have a long hard ponder about their life on the island and whether or not they made the right move coming here in the first place.

Most British people leaving Mallorca are returning to the UK as they can see the opertunities leaving the EU will provide. Despite the adverse comments regarding Brexit uncertainties, the UK economy is thriving and the stock market hit a fresh record yesterday.
When I moved to The Island in 1989. I felt I was living the dream. Today the dream , has become a nightmare for many. Many of my business friends have gone bankrupt, and left the Island. Stating " Mallorca is Finished !". Nothing is being done to help the self employed. All Inclusive Hotel Tariffs have destroyed their livelihoods. NOTHING HAS BEEN DONE TO DEAL WITH THIS, AND MANY OTHER BUSINESS, FINANCIAL and EMPLOYMENT PROBLEMS IN MALLORCA. That is why many are leaving .
