The season
Palma03/04/2018 00:00
It may have been a long winter and Easter was early this year, but I still get the impression that Majorca is not really open for the start of the season. You get the impression that it is a question of work in progress with many projects still to be completed. I was quite amazed to see in Puerto Pollensa that the beach beds and sun umbrellas were not out, and there was a feeling of things being rather quiet at the majority of places I visited over the Easter holidays.

I did,of course, mean prize, wish they would hurry up and operate on my cataracts.
Almost all the "facts",figures and statistics put out by any source on Majorca could qualify for the Booker Price for fiction.
Roy, depends on the sort of properties you are talking about. I also think a lot of prices are based on wishful thinking. Prices also went up by leaps and bounds in between 1998 and 2008, then looked what happened.
Mallorca, for good, or bad, is on a slow transition from 3 star mass market package holidays to a high percentage residential market, with higher end tourism. The bean counters should stop measuring success in terms of pure numbers of visitors.
Another doom and gloom scenario, all to proven false by the end of the season.... you only have to study property prices, particularly in the North of the island, to appreciate how popular Mallorca has become.
