I can understand that the closure of Punta Ballena in Magalluf will have come as a major blow for the Calvia business community. While the infamous strip may often be in the headlines for all the wrong reasons it is a major source of revenue for the local economy. In fact, it is probably one of the most “profitable” streets on the island.

Stan / Hace 5 days The ignorant idiots that come to Mallorca , and act like alcoholics. Think they can do what they like in a different country. These mindless morons have ruined what was the beginnings of a Season this year. They have destroyed what was left of a return to employment and earning money ,to keep their familys. I hope ALL the Authorties spend the next two Months deciding on how to prevent any future alcohol fuelled madness. These irresponsible lunatics are not wanted in Mallorca. Remove the Pimps, Prostitutes, and Owners of the disgraceful Bars .
Good point Jason. I was also one of the many that said: stop the whole strip. But, as always, it is not as simple as that, as it is also a money and work generator, which attracts hundreds of thousands each year and is a major source of revenue for many businesses, Mallorca, airlines, etc. I wish them Wisdom in Magaluf and Calvia.
Do we need a "party street"? No, we don't. My opinion? Five Star the entire island and price the louts OUT to be replaced by quality money - and, there's plenty of it.
