We have to change our outlook. Quantity and short-term profitability, thanks to volume, will not mark the success of our future seasons. It will instead be medium-term competitiveness linked to the quality of the tourism offer and to service as well as to environmental, economic and social sustainability.”

If what you appear to be referring to as "working class tourism" didn't come with so many pitfalls, then you might have a point. However, it appears you may have missed the point. Perhaps because of what's happening to places like Magaluf. The 3 star excess-for-cheap behaviour isn't particularly welcome anymore, by many different stakeholders. And it's hardly the "working class" that is being shunned. Quite the contrary. A respectable quality of tourism is precisely what Mallorca needs and deserves. And the elevation from cheap excess has been underway for more than a decade. The pandemic actually gave it a bit of a push. It will continue whether you like it or not, because frankly, that's what the "working class" is increasingly demanding. And Mallorca is uniquely positioned to deliver.
If it’s a toss up between jobs and class, jobs will always win.
