Mallorca is the new Cornwall
So many of these homes stand empty for most of the year and are only used for a month in the summer

Mallorca is not the cheap holiday destination it once had the reputation of, but as residents of the island, how are we supposed to afford to live here? It feels like Mallorca has become the Cornwall of Spain with its villages of vacant holiday homes.

David HollandI know of that place but have never been there. That's basically a tourist area with prices to match. I'm with you about the chains. In the UK, Costa, Starbucks etc are clueless about coffee. They think an Americano is a pint of brown water for £3 or more. Then they ask if you want milk with it. An Americano is a black coffee so why would I want milk with it!
Visitors have to be prepared to pay the same level of prices they are already used to paying in the UK and other countries, and stop expecting some cheap deals in Mallorca. ********** fixed that for you ********** Visitors TO BRITISH BEACH RESORTS have to be prepared to pay the same level of prices they are already used to paying in the UK, and stop expecting some cheap deals in Mallorca.
Zoltan TeglasWell I’m a cafe modern fan in Palma . Beautiful square. And La concierge in port andriax . I actually like coffee in my coffee and would never use a chain and buy froth . Always go where the locals go .
Forget Starbucks and go to any cafe in Palma where the normal local people go and a coffee is €1.50. Where can you get a coffee in London for that price?
