Shipping company Iscomar announced yesterday that it is all set to restart its ferry service between Alcudia and Ciutadella. The Nura Nova ferry was taken off the route on January 31 for her annual technical revision at the Burriana shipyard Castellon, but on Sunday she was brought back into service on the route and yesterday resumed the twice-daily service: setting sail from Ciutadella at 11.30 and 19.00 and leaving Alcudia at 8.30 and 16.00hrs. The ferry carries 450 passengers and 144 vehicles and takes two-and-a-half hours to cover the route at a speed of 14.5 knots. The return of the service has been welcomed in Minorca, as the suspension coincided with shipping company Cape Balear's decision to temporarily halt the Ciutadella to Cala Ratjada Menorca Express service, which is to resume sailing tomorrow (Wednesday).
